Guardian Exhibition & Display Limited is committed to minimising the impact of its activities on the environment.
The critical points of our strategy to achieve this are:
1. Minimise waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible
2. Minimise toxic emissions through the selection and use of more fuel-efficient vehicles
3. Actively source recycling methods for the products we sell
4. Source and promote a product range to minimise the environmental impact of both production and distribution
5. Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to the Company
6. Promote sustainable exhibiting methods to exhibitors
The audit made us think about finding ways to lower the amount of diesel fuel used when delivering stands and materials to venues.
One solution to this problem included introducing a restructured method of selling; we now focus on selling our products at fewer shows but increasing our coverage in each one.
By cutting out single stand venues wherever possible, we can slash thousands of gallons of diesel from our annual mileage.
We have also invested in larger vehicles that deliver better fuel mileage.
An example of our policy for the recycling of PVC banners is as follows:
PVC and fabric banners are recycled by a proven method. Fabrics and other display materials are collected and sent to a UK recycling depot. Deliveries are triggered once an agreed weight of the material is reached to ensure that collections are not too regular, which would itself add to needless CO² output. The materials collected go through two-stages of shredding, after that, filter through heat injectors, which will melt the material down to liquid form for moulding into useful products, i.e. ramps, traffic cones. Alternately the shredded material is used in the Equestrian industry.
Guardian Exhibition & Display is a supplier of modular exhibition stands constructed using an aluminium frame system.
Aluminium is a sustainable product providing a lightweight and robust frame for stand building.
With careful maintenance, aluminium components can be reused many times over, and the light weight of components lowers transport costs.
Guardian Exhibition & Display complies with all the environmental legislation that relates to the Company and its activities. We always seek to source the most sustainable materials for the products that we offer to exhibitor and organiser clients.
We educate exhibitors about sustainable event practices via blog posts, emails and landing pages dedicated to this subject.
